1800's Brothel and Fencing Club

1800s was the worst century for the Palace. Needs for renovation was imminent and there was no funds. During this time, the Palace was used for many different activities. Some of those included the Åbomska girls' school, a gymnastic- and fencing club, a tobacco and cigar factory, where tobacco products were dried and processed so that much of the original stucco ceilings by brothers Giovanni, were destroyed. It was alleged that parts of the Palace was divided as single dwellings, there was a brasserie and a period even a brothel. The basement was used for store coal. In the late 1800s was almost all the land designated in and built with rental properties. A builder bought the Palace with the intention to demolish it and instead build several new buildings.
